The Cooperative Challenge
A thoughtfully prepared cooperative challenge is a great way to address the skills of self-control, social intelligence and grit. They can be used to teach roles people play within a group and help students identify strengths and areas in which they can work to improve when working in groups. The links below provide a few cooperative challenge scenarios I have written over the years. I love telling a good story and my students always look forward to listening and then acting them out. We often bring the school together and have a full day of many cooperative challenges the day before a vacation. It is fun to watch older children work with younger children. For lots of these there really isn't any prescribed equipment. You can throw in and adapt in any way you would like. Have fun!
