Brain-Bits & Neuro-Nuggets

On the first day of Eric Jensen's 6-day Teaching With The Brain In Mind training, he described brain-compatible/based learning as "An informed process of using practical strategies based on sound principles derived from research. It's doing what makes sense based on how the brain learns best." All week we learned the principles and experienced the strategies. Each day was carefully crafted so we could experience first hand what it feels like to be part of a classroom where close attention is paid to how the brain and body learn best. How lucky I was to have this experience as it hooked my interest and motivated me to further my understanding and make the neuroscience of learning a foundation for teaching, learning & interacting. These pages include much of what I've learned and apply about the science of learning.

As you explore the pages found in this section you will see this symbol followed by some questions placed there to spark reflective thinking. There is always more than one way to get where you are going and many creative ways yet to be discovered. Asking these questions can help you discover new and innovative ways to motivate and inspire students to become lifelong learners.
